 Opera House Community members have  been making steady progress on the renovation of the community's opera house. With the help of several grants, hundreds of volunteer hours, and local financial contributions, the Opera House is taking new form. The facility is used by the local school district for it's plays, families use it for reunions, and it is available for rent.
 Economic Development MidAmerican Energy completed a $323 million electric generating wind farm project in 2005 claimed to be one of the largest of its kind in the nation. One of the two sites in Iowa is located north of Blairsburg in Wright and Hamilton counties.
