 Housing opportunities abound in Hamilton County. A low cost of living, low taxes, available jobs and great quality of life make Hamilton County a great place to live.
Over the course of the last ten years Hamilton County has seen tremendous growth in new home construction. Nearly one hundred new homes  have been built in the nine Hamilton County communities. This has been encouraged by a tax abatement program offered by each community. Information on the tax abatement can be obtained from the City Clerk in each community or from the County Auditor's office.
 Hamilton County S.E.E.D. can assist individuals or couples purchase a home through a low interest program which helps qualified applicants borrow money for a downpayment.
Hamilton county created a loan pool to assist property owners in the rehabilitation of second story space of downtown buildings for use as apartments. This gap financing is meant to fill a void for owners pursuing such a project. The goal is to help provide additional rental units in Hamilton County communities.
 The Stratford community offers an assisted living facility of twenty apartment units. Webster City is foll owing suit with one facility underway and plans for a second in the discussion stage.
Ellsworth, Stanhope, Stratford and Williams all offer subsidized housing for senior citizens.
