Wes and Cindi Sweedler - 1896 Vail Avenue, Williams, IA T he barn quilt was a gift from Cindi’s business team with Pampered Chef in July 2009. Cindi had reached a milestone in her career of one million dollars sold, and she received national recognition. Her team wanted to give her a gift that would be lasting and meaningful, and knowing she loved farm heritage and its values and décor, they had a barn quilt made for her. A 4-H student painted it as a project.
The farm has been in the Sweedler family since 1903, originally purchased by Edward Sweedler. The barn was constructed in 1914 to house animals: horses, cows and pigs. It was made of wood using mortis and tendon joints. Carpenters came from Illinois to construct it – from where the Sweedlers originated from. Today it is used for storage and FFA cattle.
